NICU Celebrates 35 Years of Care

Former patients—those who spent their earliest days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit—returned to the Health Center to mark a milestone.
They were the guests of honor at a celebration of 35 years of comprehensive care for infants born with special health care needs at the Health Center—the same level of specialized care they experienced months and in many cases years earlier.
More than 800 NICU "graduates," siblings and parents enjoyed the "old-fashioned country fair" theme September 11 in the Center Courtyard. The celebration included music from Country 92.5, a magic show, face painting, food, and special guests, including as Rocky the Rock Cat, Sonar from the Hartford Wolf Pack and Carey the Sodexo Bear.
