Two UConn Specialists from The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services Named to Best Doctors of America 2003-2004

Farmington, Conn. - Two specialists from the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services at the University of Connecticut Health Center were recently included in Best Doctors in America, 2003-2004. This is the second consecutive year that Claudio Benadiva, M.D., and Donald Maier, M.D., have been added to this prestigious list.

Best Doctors® is a nationally recognized database that contains names and professional profiles of physicians who are chosen through an exhaustive peer-review survey in which thousands of physicians are asked to name the best clinical practitioners in their specialties. The Best Doctors® list represents the top five percent of physicians nationally in more than 400 specialties.

Dr. Benadiva is director of the in vitro fertilization (IVF) laboratory. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. In addition to being an assistant clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology with the UConn School of Medicine, Dr. Benadiva is involved with all fertility treatments with special interests in IVF, endoscopic surgery, and assisted reproductive technologies. In addition, he has done extensive research in reproductive biology and endocrinology.

Dr. Maier is chief of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Health Center. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He has specialized in reproductive endocrinology for more than 20 years. Dr. Maier’s special interests include IVF, recurrent pregnancy losses, uterine surgery, endoscopic surgery, and the psychological aspects of infertility.
