Painting Appraisals October 16 Benefit Art at the Health Center

Tours of Health Center Art Collection Throughout the Event

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Aunt Betty’s painting might be worth a great deal to you, but does it have any market value? Find out at a special painting appraisal event and tour of the Health Center’s permanent collection, Saturday, October 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Keller Lobby, main building.

The public is invited to bring paintings for a verbal evaluation by professional appraisers. There is a charge of $5 for each appraisal, limit 3. Proceeds will support art at the Health Center.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to have a cherished painting, family heirloom, or new acquisition appraised,” said Linda Webber, UConn Health Center’s art curator. “We’re also eager to showcase our wonderful art collection,” she said.

“Everyone is invited to take part in the appraisals, or the tour, or both.”

Paintings, sculpture and multi-media pieces on display at the Health Center include works by many well-known Connecticut artists, such as Alexander Calder, Bonnie Johnson, Robert Motherwell, James Grabowski, Annie Albers, Sheila Meyer, and Barbara Levin, among others.

The Art Appraisal Event is sponsored by the Health Center’s Art Advisory Committee. For more information, contact Art Advisory Committee founder and member Celeste LeWitt at 860-675-6835.
