‘Colon Cancer Prevention’ is Discovery Topic

UConn Health Center Lecture Series Showcases Medical School, Innovation

“Colon Cancer Prevention” is the topic of an upcoming Discovery Series free public lecture Tuesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in Keller Auditorium on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center, 263 Farmington Avenue, Farmington.

The snow date for the lecture is March 9.

Presenters include Joel Levine, M.D., co-director of the Colon Cancer Prevention Program and Stacy Cruess, Ph.D., Cancer Prevention Research Coordinator at UConn Storrs.

Dr. Levine is a co-founder of the Health Center’s new Colon Cancer Prevention Program. Open to all men and women over age 18, the program is designed to help patients understand their risk of colon cancer – and create personalized cancer prevention plans. Because cancer prevention is a way of life, this unique program offers ongoing support, education and the benefits of today’s latest research advances.

The March 7 lectures will address:

  • Personalized cancer prevention strategies.
  • Making lifestyle changes.
  • Today’s best technologies.
