Dr. Michael J. Fucci Joins UConn Health Center

General Cardiologist Sees Patients in Farmington and Bristol

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Cardiologist Michael J. Fucci, D.O., is now seeing patients at the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at the UConn Health Center in Farmington and in Bristol, on 665 Terryville Avenue.

Dr. Fucci is a general cardiologist, providing specialty care for adults with various types of cardiovascular disease. His clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of patients with congestive heart failure and the use of new, advanced and minimally invasive cardiac imaging techniques to diagnose the presence of heart disease.

Dr. Fucci is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the UConn School of Medicine. For three years, from 2000 to 2003, he worked as a hospitalist at Cape Cod Hospital before beginning his fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the UConn School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Fucci recently completed a visiting fellowship in cardiovascular computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.

“Dr. Fucci is an excellent addition to our team. He has a strong interest in critical care medicine, as seen in his experience as a hospitalist, as well as advanced training in the latest uses of imaging techniques to detect heart disease,” said Bruce Liang, M.D. director of the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center.
