About the Artists:
Working in a variety of mediums, Sharon Kocay believes in the freedom of expression, experimentation, and having fun with her artwork. She attended the University of Connecticut where she majored in English and art and has studied with several locally well-known artists, including Carol Ganick, Robert Norieka and Paul Zimmerman. Kocay has worked as a preschool teacher for 17 years, developing art programs for youngsters, and has served as the art director at Kingswood-Oxford School’s Camp Renaissance for 10 years. She is an active member of the West Hartford Art League, the Wintonbury Art League, and the Connecticut Watercolor Society. She has exhibited in various shows and galleries and has done commissioned pieces for individuals and businesses. A Connecticut native, Kocay is a resident of West Hartford.

Susan Prentice majored in illustration at the School of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University, where she was honored as the “Outstanding Senior in Illustration” and awarded a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She began her career at Keiler Advertising in Farmington, and was recognized for her work as art director. For the past 23 years, she has been freelancing in the field of marketing communications, providing design and art direction, as well as illustration, photography and print production supervision. She began to paint in oils in 2001, something she says she has wanted to do for many years. Since that time she has been accepted to a number of shows at the West Hartford Art League, exhibited at the New Britain Museum Members Show, the Henry James Gallery in Simsbury, and was a “visiting artist” on the ConneCTkids.com website for the State of Connecticut. Her works are currently on exhibit at the Geary Gallery in Darien. A Connecticut native, Prentice is a long-time resident of Simsbury.
