Dr. Brett Sloan is Health Center’s Newest Dermatologist

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Dermatologist Brett Sloan, M.D., is now seeing patients at the University of Connecticut Health Center and the UConn Health Partners Clinic in East Hartford. His areas of interest and expertise include nail disorders, geriatric dermatology, psoriasis, skin cancer, infectious diseases of the skin, acne and rosacea.

Dr. Sloan most recently was the staff dermatologist for Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Tex., and Kerrville VA Hospital in Kerrville, Tex. He comes to the UConn Health Center to practice general dermatology and actively engage in teaching residents and medical students.

“The opportunity to teach residents and medical students was one of the big factors in why I chose the UConn Health Center,” Dr. Sloan says.

“We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Sloan join our department,” says Jane Grant-Kels, M.D., chief of dermatology at the UConn Health Center. “His expertise in general dermatology and in nail disorders will make him a tremendous asset to our educational and clinical mission.”

Dr. Sloan is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. He completed his dermatology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. Dr. Sloan is a decorated Air Force veteran who served as a flight surgeon for seven years, and he’s a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
