More Orthopaedic Choices in Avon

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Orthopaedic surgeons Augustus Mazzocca, M.D., and Craig Rodner, M.D., of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute at the University of Connecticut Health Center, are now seeing patients at Old Avon Orthopaedics, 2 Simsbury Road, Avon.

Mazzocca specializes in operative and non-operative management of problems related to the shoulder and elbow. He is an active team physician for the UConn Huskies, including the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the football team. Mazzocca is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society and is the founder of the New England Shoulder and Elbow Society. He is also the director of the Orthopaedic Bioskills Laboratory at the UConn School of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Rodner specializes in the operative and non-operative management of hand, wrist and upper extremity problems. He also treats patients with fractures, and has a special interest in nerve injuries and the management of arthritis of the hand and wrist. Along with his clinical practice, Rodner is on the full-time faculty at the UConn School of Medicine.

Mazzocca and Rodner will continue seeing patients at the New England Musculoskeletal Institute in Farmington, and at UConn Health Partners, 99 Ash Street, East Hartford.
