Deans, directors and department heads donned aprons and served hot dogs to faculty, staff, students and volunteers as the Health Center took a break to celebrate summer with a picnic in the courtyard Aug. 14.
More than 1,200 hot dogs were served on a picturesque Friday that provided an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the company of friends and colleagues. Lunch fare also included veggie burgers, chips, watermelon and soft drinks.
The hot dog lunch was made possible by the generosity of an anonymous Health Center donor who “offered to pay for an event to thank our employees for the great work that happens here every day,” says organizer Carolle Andrews, interim chief administrative officer.
Hundreds of faculty, staff, students and volunteers enjoyed some sunshine and lunch in the courtyard.
