It’s a growing trend in American health care: as primary care physicians retire or leave their practice, the rate at which new doctors are choosing primary care out of medical school is not keeping pace. Dr. Adam Silverman, chief of the Division of Internal Medicine at the UConn Health Center, talks about why this is happening, what it means, and what the UConn Health Center is doing to address it at the local level.
