Could an Apology Make a Difference?
A recent study suggested physicians apologizing for misdiagnoses or other errors can go a long way toward improving patient relations and reducing the likelihood of malpractice litigation. Carol Pfeiffer, professor of medicine and director of the Clinical Skills Assessment Program at the UConn School of Medicine offered her perspective with WTIC’s Ray Dunaway.
