You and the Flu
Experts Talk About Staying Healthy at December 2 Discovery Series
FARMINGTON, CONN. – Flu, a hot topic in the medical news, is the subject of the next Discovery Series program. Titled "Flu Season 2004: Staying Healthy," the event will feature presentations by UConn Health Center physicians Richard Garibaldi, M.D., chairman of the Department of Medicine, and Mark Metersky, M.D., associate professor in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine, and from the Connecticut Department of Health Matthew L. Cartter, M.D., epidemiology program coordinator.
The speakers will discuss the background of various flu epidemics, symptoms, treatments, prevention, and vaccine related issues, and other informative and timely tips on what you can do to avoid the flu. The free program is Thursday, December 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Keller Auditorium. Registration is required. Call 1-800-535-6232 or locally call 860-679-7692.
