Fashion Show For “Girls and the Women Who Love Them”
Celebrate Women Event on August 20th
FARMINGTON, CONN. – Celebrate Women, the free women’s health membership program of the UConn Health Center, will present as part of its “Just Us Girls” series, a fashion show for “Girls and the Women Who Love Them” on Saturday, August 20, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Keller Auditorium at the UConn Health Center in Farmington.
Fashion consultant Gari Lewis will introduce the ten girls who will be modeling the latest fashions. Lewis will also speak on several fashion-related topics:
- Shopping with a plan---what you need to know before you set foot in the store.
- How to avoid impulse buying.
- Shopping on a budget.
- Color analysis---choosing the best colors and fabrics for your look and lifestyle.
In addition to the fashion show, program highlights include a mother/daughter panel discussion where five mothers and daughters will model outfits they have chosen and then offer each other critiques and comments; cosmetic tips from make-up specialist Tracy Gruber; and a guest appearance by Connecticut’s Junior Miss Kaitlin Muench.
