UConn Offers Free Programs About In Vitro Fertilization
Farmington, Conn. – Specialists with the Center for Advanced Reproductive Services at the University of Connecticut Health Center will lead informational sessions about current treatments for infertility, specifically in vitro fertilization (IVF), on July 7 and 21 at the Health Center. Each session will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The free programs are led by reproductive endocrinology experts Claudio Benadiva, M.D., John Nulsen, M.D., Donald Maier, M.D., or David Schmidt, M.D. The Center presents informational sessions, typically once or twice each month, for couples who are interested in learning more about IVF. Each program includes an in-depth explanation of the IVF process and a discussion about some of the emotional issues surrounding IVF. Options for financial planning are also discussed.
The Center for Advanced Reproductive Services offers many advanced techniques to help patients achieve successful pregnancies. UConn was one of the first IVF centers in Connecticut and is currently the largest such center in the state. In 2004, the Center opened a satellite office in Hamden at 2080 Whitney Avenue for the convenience of patients in Southern Connecticut.
For all sessions, registration is required. For more information, directions and registration, please call 860-679-4580 or visit www.fertilitycenter-uconn.org.
