Oh My Aching Back
Nov. 1 Discovery Series Looks at Back Pain, Causes, Treatments and Prevention
FARMINGTON, CONN. – Back pain is a common medical problem, affecting nearly eight out of 10 people sometime during their lives.
Experts from the Comprehensive Spine Center at the UConn Health Center will discuss some of the causes of back pain, prevention strategies and the latest medical and surgical treatments at a Discovery Series program, “Oh My Aching Back,” on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The program begins at 7 p.m. in the Health Center’s Keller Auditorium. The Discovery Series is free but registration is required by calling 800-535-6232.
Speakers will include neurosurgeons Hilary Onyiuke and Patrick Senatus, physiatrist Syed Hasan and orthopedic surgeon R. Alexander Mohr. They will discuss some of the new technologies that are expanding treatment options for millions of American men and women who suffer from neck and back pain.
The program is presented by the Comprehensive Spine Center, part of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute at the Health Center.
