Free Program on Dental Implants

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Experts from the University of Connecticut Health Center will give a presentation on dental implant therapy Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the UConn campus in Storrs.

Scheduled speakers are David Shafer, D.M.D., and Thomas Taylor, D.D.S., from the Center for Implant and Reconstructive Dentistry at the UConn Health Center’s New England Musculoskeletal Institute, and Pamela Taxel, M.D., from the UConn Center for Osteoporosis. “Dental Implants and Bone Health” is a presentation of Celebrate Women, the Health Center’s free women’s health membership program.

“Dental implants can be a good solution for people who are missing teeth or who have problems with their dentures,” Shafer says. “We’ll explain what dental implants are, who might be a candidate for them, and how they fit in to overall oral and bone health.”

The information session is free; registration is required, by calling 860-679-8899 or 866-4-FEMALE. Online registration, as well as more information about Celebrate Women, is available at www.celebrate.uchc.edu.

Registration starts at 5:45 p.m. at the Alumni Center on Alumni Drive on the Storrs campus.
