White Coat Ceremonies for UConn Medical, Dental Students

FARMINGTON, CONN. – It’s a symbolic induction into the profession of medicine. The University of Connecticut’s first-year medical and dental students will receive their white coats Friday.

Who/what: White Coat Ceremonies for the 85 members of the UConn School of Medicine Class of 2012 and the 43 members of the UConn School of Dental Medicine Class of 2012.

When: Friday, Aug. 15. The UConn School of Dental Medicine White Coat Ceremony starts at 3 p.m. The UConn School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony starts at 4:45 p.m.

Where: Keller Auditorium, ground floor, main building, UConn Health Center, 263 Farmington Ave., Farmington.

To get to the UConn Health Center main entrance: Entering the campus from Route 4, at the first stop sign, continue straight. Bear left at the fork and continue up the hill. The main entrance is straight past next the stop sign. Visitor parking is available on the other side of the gate. During the ceremonies, the dental students will recite the American Dental Association Dentist’s Pledge, and the medical students will recite the Hippocratic Oath. More information is available at http://medicine.uchc.edu/current/orientation/index.html#white_coat.
