Getting a Jump on Health Care Career Education

UConn Health Center’s ’09 High School Mini Medical/Dental School

FARMINGTON, CONN. – The University of Connecticut Health Center will award diplomas to more than 60 students from 19 Connecticut high schools who will have completed this year’s High School Mini Medical/Dental School program Thursday, April 23. (A list of the high schools represented is below.)

It will mark the end of eight weekly after-school sessions of lectures and demonstrations by UConn School of Medicine and UConn School of Dental Medicine faculty. The program concludes with the April 23 session, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Health Center’s Low Learning Center. At 6 p.m. the students will receive their diplomas. A reception will be held in the academic lobby from 6:15 to 7 p.m.

To get to the Low Learning Center: Entering the campus from Route 4, at the first stop sign, continue straight. Bear left at the fork and continue up the hill. The main entrance is straight past the next stop sign. Visitor parking is available on the other side of the gate. Take the escalator in the lobby down to the ground floor and follow the signs for the Henry B.C. Low M.D. Learning Center.
