Dr. Oluremi Aliyu Joins UConn Health Center

Primary Care Physician Seeing Patients in Farmington

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Oluremi Aliyu, M.D., M.P.H., a primary care physician with special interests in preventive medicine is now seeing patients at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington. 

Prior to joining the Health Center, Dr. Aliyu was an attending physician at Yale-New Haven Hospital and the head physician at Community Health Connection/Hill Health Center in Ansonia.

Dr. Aliyu graduated from Ogun State University College of Health Sciences in Nigeria with honors and distinctions. She performed an internship in internal medicine and general surgery in Nigeria and an internship and residency in internal medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons at Harlem Hospital in New York. She completed a fellowship in preventive medicine/occupational and environmental medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Additionally, she performed a West African College of Physicians’ fellowship in primary care and community medicine leading to her certification as a senior registrar.

Dr. Aliyu also earned a Masters of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma. She is board certified in internal medicine and preventive medicine/occupational and environmental medicine.
