When: August 3 through October 28, daily 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

About the Artists:
Douglas Bok's
photographs range from the realistic to the abstract. Many of his recent photographs were taken while traveling cross-country and include a series of national parks, forests and monuments. His photographs have been displayed in shows and events throughout the region, where he has won several awards.

He is a member of the West Hartford Art League and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts. A graduate of the universities of Connecticut and New Haven, Bok is a Connecticut native and lives in Canton and Bayonet, Florida.

Exhibiting his most recent works, Thomas Cowles says his paintings come from his love of the sky he sees from an airplane. “The sky, with its wide range of weather, its physical depth, and varied interaction with the land below, expresses the whole range of human emotion,” he states. “In my paintings of the sky, I strive to lift myself above the mundane of everyday life to seek a bright spirit.”

He first began drawing and painting as a child, and as an adult began sketching while abroad with his family. For about ten years, he was part of a group of southern Vermont artists who gathered each June to paint and critique each others’ works.
