Vascular Neurologist, Stroke Expert, Joins UConn Health

FARMINGTON, CONN. – Dr. Sanjay Mittal, a vascular neurologist, recently joined UConn Health as director of its stroke program.

Mittal sees patients who are hospitalized after experiencing a stroke and also provides care on an outpatient basis to help patients manage risk factors for stroke. In addition, he has specialized training in the management of muscle spasticity, a common side effect of strokes.

Board certified in stroke and vascular neurology, Mittal received his medical education from the Gandhi Medical College in Bhopal, India. He completed his residency training in neurology and fellowship training in vascular neurology at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, N.Y., and joins UConn Health from the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.  He is accepting new patients.
